Hi,

I just ran across your site and am going through your posts. I saw the post titled "Terrific Tantrums" and figured you must be at least familiar with the Montessori Method. I'm a trained Montessori teacher, and am happy to see someone not directly affiliated with Montessori presenting a fair article about the method. You are completely right, a child learns when he or she is ready. And they will let you know when they are ready. What children are able to do at such a young age is amazing!

I do want to mention that the method doesn't begin at 3. I am trained in birth-3, and you would be amazed. I know this post is old, but if you haven't yet I highly recommend observing an infant-toddler community.

I'm looking forward to looking through more of your posts, and am glad I found your blog!

[...] Homeschooling a preschooler – even if you’re doing it the “life learning” way – definitely has its challenges. Especially when the child in question is an Only, and is constantly demanding attention from Mommy and Daddy. [...]
