“Start Helping Your Dog Lose Unhealthy Weight”…

…Give him a drug!

After all, obesity in dogs is the result of a deficiency of the drug Slentrol, right? The best way to help your dog lose weight and get on the path to healthy living is to routinely feed it a toxic substance that has caused seizures, vomiting, loose stools, lethargy and anorexia in test animals.

Is there no end to the madness and greed of Big Pharm? It’s bad enough that researchers are skewing experimental results to “prove” that obesity in humans is caused by a gene, which can be beaten into submission by a poisonous, adrenal-exhausting, disease-risk-increasing pill.

Now they are after your dogs, as well.

If you are an owner of an obese dog, let me save you some money and increase your pet’s lifespan: reduce the amount of food you’re feeding him and make him exercise daily.

While I’m at it, if you have a child who is obese: reduce the amount of food you’re feeding him and make him exercise daily.

If you are obese…do I even have to say it?

If obesity is caused by a gene, why are the “primitive” peoples who have no processed food in their diet and do a lot of physical labor all in good shape? I dare say that where such a group has pets, their pets have no weight problem, either.

To answer your question, no, I’ve never known what it’s like to gain a bunch of weight and then try to lose it. I understand that it’s difficult.

But I know it’s not impossible. I am married to a man who used to weigh one hundred pounds more than he does now. He was obese. Want to know his secret? Come on, try to guess.

He stopped eating doughnuts, figured out how many calories he needed to eat for his activity level, and began exercising at least thirty minutes every day.

He also took no drug or miraculous weight loss supplement or metabolism booster to help himself along.

Translation: maintaining a healthy weight–either yours or your dog’s–takes work and discipline.

Rant over.
