No matter, b/c I am now washing laundry by hand, a little every day so as not to be overwhelming. The gray water is used for watering. And now that DS is older, I have no difficulties in hanging it up to dry, LOL. It's just the way we've always done it here in Australia (although in recent years I see a lot more people using electric dryers). We've never had problems with lint - not sure what's going on there. If it's too hot outside, just hang out the washing first thing in the morning before the day heats up. We run the washing machine overnight (which saves money if you're on time-of-day electricity metering) so it's ready to go out first thing. In wet weather, we hang everything on drying racks on the balcony under cover. They take a little longer to dry, but the job still gets done. In winter, we put the drying racks in front of the slow-combustion fire. This is the best - they dry in one evening! I’ve never thought of line-drying as something difficult!
